It has been a while since we have noted reactions to this movement among evangelicals.  Following are some new items for you to explore.

Theopedia: An Encyclopedia of Biblical Christianity is an on line resource in progress that aims to be what its title says.  Check out its entry on The Emerging Church here .   Check out some other topics as well to see the projected scope of this site.

Ed Stetzer, in "Understanding the Emerging Church," sees three distinct groupings under the umbrella of the emerging church:
"I believe that some are taking the same Gospel in the historic form of church but seeking to make it understandable to emerging culture; some are taking the same Gospel but questioning and reconstructing much of the form of church; some are questioning and revising the Gospel and the church."

The pastor at Mars Hill Church in Seattle has some interesting things to say here from a recent conversation with Ravi Zacharias, world renowned Christian philosopher, writer, speaker, apologist:

As we talked I asked him what issues were of the greatest concern to him and what he was preparing to focus on in the coming year. Much to my surprise, he said that the Emerging church was a great concern to him because it held a low view of truth and was gaining momentum as a gathering point for all kinds of aberrant Christian doctrinal agendas.

If Zacharias is concerned, I am concerned.  Read the whole thing for some interesting reflections from a pastor who knows many of those on all sides concerning the emerging church.
